Through generous donations from the Tuckahoe Educational Foundation and the Tuckahoe PTO, students in all grade levels (PreK- 8th) were able to be exposed to Yoga and its benefits for students and their mental health. The students at Tuckahoe School were lucky to have two certified yoga instructors spend four school days with them this January. Under the guidance of Angela Polchinski & Marcus Lapianna, the students learned how to use their breath to help them relax in difficult situations. They also practiced balance techniques and stretches to help not only today but in the future. Through mindfulness and yoga, children can learn how to manage their emotions, make good choices and balance their busy lives. We, at Tuckahoe, were thrilled to bring this type of learning and exposure to our students.
