On Friday January 31,2020 Tribal Trustee Germain Smith of the Shinnecock Nation presented the Tuckahoe Common School District with the Shinnecock Nation Flag.  Mr. Smith thanked Superintendent Len Skuggevik for the Districts welcoming, community focused transition into the school and for the district’s ongoing efforts to ensure the Nation is a valued part of the Tuckahoe family.

The Tuckahoe Common School District and Shinnecock Nation are in the final stages of creating a contract that would enable the students of the Shinnecock Nation to continue the option of attending the district for at least another five years.  The current contract is set to expire in June 30, 2020.
