The National Junior Honor Society, under the guidance of teacher advisor’s Allison Whittle and Bonnie Downs, purchased food and prepared bagged lunches for the clients of Maureen Haven in Riverhead. Maureen’s Haven strives to provide safe temporary shelter and nutritious meals to homeless individuals on the East End of Long Island. Through the completion of monthly community service projects, Tuckahoe School’s National Junior Honor Society members are learning to embody the values of service, human dignity, respect, compassion, diversity and teamwork.
