K-12 Alert Message 4-3-2020
Good afternoon, this is Len Skuggevik, Superintendent of the Tuckahoe Common School District. As you are aware, the Governors executive order has extended the school closure up to and including April 14th. While our school calendar intended our students and teachers to be on “Spring Break” next week, the governor has directed all schools to continue their distant learning program instead.
We want to be respectful of your family time. We know that there are needs and challenges that you may be facing and that many of you will be taking time with your family to observe religious holidays next week. With this in mind, please note that your children will continue to receive learning opportunities in a variety of formats. The activities and experiences will honor our directive for providing continuous learning, but we remind you that students should work at a pace that is comfortable for them to ensure that they have a full understanding of the materials. Given the nature of the week, teachers will be even more understanding of your time commitments.
Please note, meals will still be delivered as scheduled and the school office will remain open next week as well.

Buenos Días, soy Jamie Pajan, de parte de Len Skuggevik, Superintendente del Distrito Escolar Común de Tuckahoe. Como ya saben ustedes, el orden ejecutivo dado por el gobernador ha extendido el cierre de escuelas hasta e incluyendo el catorce de abril. Aunque nuestro calendario escolar indica que los estudiantes y los maestros tendrían vacaciones de primavera la semana que viene, el gobernador ha dirigido que todas escuelas continúan con sus programas de aprender de una distancia.
Queremos respetar el tiempo que ustedes tienen con sus familias. Sabemos que hay necesidades y desafíos que ustedes puedan tener y que muchos de ustedes tomarán tiempo con su familia para observar fiestas religiosas en la semana que viene. Considerando eso, por favor noten que sus hijos continuarán recibir oportunidades para aprender en varias maneras. Las actividades y las experiencias respetarán nuestro directivo de proveer aprendizaje continuo, pero les recordamos a ustedes que los estudiantes deben trabajar a un rato confortable para asegurar que aprenden bien todas las materias. Pensando en la importancia de la semana que viene, los maestros serán aún más comprensivos de sus obligaciones y su tiempo.
Por favor noten que la distribución de comida continuará como antes y que la oficina escolar quedará abierta también en la semana que viene.
