Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration for residents of the Tuckahoe Common School District is now ongoing.  If you know of a neighbor or friend who lives in Tuckahoe and has a child eligible for these programs, please make them aware.  
 
For the 2025-2026 school year eligibility for Kindergarten, a child must have a birthdate between 12-01-2019 and 11-30-2020.  To be eligible for Pre-Kindergarten, a child must have a birthdate between 12-01-2020 and 11-30-2021. 
 
You can conveniently register online on our website at www.tuckahoecommonsd.com and on the homepage, scroll down to “Register Your Child” and click onto the button to the right named “Registration.”  It is a fillable form and must be printed after completion, scanned and emailed to Colleen McIntyre at cmcintyre@tuckahoecommonsd.com.  Upon receiving the completed registration packet, the school’s main office will contact you to schedule an appointment to complete the registration process.  
 
Parents are required to provide their child’s birth certificate, immunization records, latest physical along with three forms of identification with your name and address (driver’s license, utility bill, pay stub, bank statement).  The following documents are required as proof of residency:  renting, a lease agreement; own your home, a tax bill; reside on the Shinnecock Nation, a tribal verification letter. 
 
A blood lead level is requested for all Pre-K students as per New York State guidelines.   This is a routine blood test that may have already been done.  Please check with your child’s pediatrician.
