Principal's Welcome 2026-2027

Dear Tuckahoe Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I am delighted to introduce myself as your new Principal, Kerry Terry, and
extend a warm welcome to all our returning and new families as we begin the school year.
Our dedicated staff has been working tirelessly to prepare our classrooms, and we are ready to make this an
unforgettable, inspiring, and successful year for everyone in the Tuckahoe Common School District.

As we kick off the year, I want to highlight a few important updates and upcoming calendar dates:
• Updated Cell Phone Procedure (Grades 6-8): To foster a more focused and socially engaged learning
environment, we are implementing a new cell phone procedure for our middle school students. Phones will
be collected at morning arrival and returned during dismissal. Grades Kindergarten-5 will remain the same.
• Changes in your child’s normal dismissal routine must be documented with a note sent to school with your
child and given to the teacher. Please do not rely on emails to your child’s teacher, as teachers may be
absent or not have access to email during instructional time. If your child is going home with another
student, written permission must be provided by both families. We must receive a note from the
parent/guardian of the child going to the other student’s home, as well as a note from the parent/guardian of
the student who will be bringing the child home or taking the bus home to go to their house after school.
• Friday, September 4th: Superintendent’s Conference Day. No school for students.
